In an industry where stability, efficiency and trust are everything, Hayani Gas has made its mark as a reliable player in the South African gas sector. Founded in 2015 by Thando Sibisi, Hayani started as a small trading operation run from home. Today, it has grown into a thriving enterprise with its own gas depot, logistics network and large-scale distribution.

Burning bright despite the odds

Navigating a male-dominated industry for 26 years, Thando has faced challenges but built a business grounded in integrity and efficiency. Despite facing uncertainty and industry politics, she has gone against the flow to create opportunities for herself and those around her. But even the strongest leaders need the right partners. For Thando, that partner has been FNB.

Powering up for growth

Before securing a depot in 2018, Hayani relied on third-party transport providers, leading to delays and inconsistency. Recognising the need for control of her supply chain, Thando reached out to FNB and WesBank. Through asset-based finance, she secured funding for a truck, improving efficiency and ensuring timely deliveries.

As Hayani expanded, so did its financial needs. With gas being a capital-intensive industry, FNB provided an overdraft facility to maintain a steady cash flow. Expanding the pipeline

A proud Sasol partner seller, Hayani is also making an impact beyond business, supporting a local daycare with gas and groceries for 53 children. Thando is passionate about empowering women, actively hiring and mentoring them in an industry where they are often overlooked. For me, it's about growing with people, not just myself,' she highlights.

Now handling 1 000 tons per month, Hayani aims to double its output. With FNB by its side, the company is redefining the gas industry, proving what's possible when dedication meets the right help.
